The City of Verona treated its residents and visitors to an extraordinary sound-and-light show featuring 500 drones flying over the Arena: “The Magic of Christmas,” produced by the company Allumee.
An initiative carried out as part of “Natale per Verona.”
The First Drone Show in Verona
For the first time in Verona, a choreographed display of synchronized, light-up drones flew over the Arena, capturing the attention of residents and visitors alike.
This show—a first for the city—took place above the Amphitheater over the course of three evenings, bringing to life luminous images with a Christmas theme
During the opening night, hundreds of people looked up at the Amphitheater to watch the shapes and symbols traced high in the sky by a fleet of synchronized drones, accompanied by music and colors designed to create a festive atmosphere. The event, sponsored by the city government, marked a first for the city: never before had Verona hosted an aerial display of this kind, capable of combining technology, visual storytelling, and the showcasing of its iconic monument.
“A Christmas-themed show to wish the city a Merry Christmas,” said Alessia Rotta, Deputy Mayor for Events, “and to invite everyone to the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics. This is the first time an event of this kind has been held in Verona, and during the first performance on the evening of December 15, it was met with great enthusiasm by the audience.”

The project was sponsored by Agsm Aim and Generali Italia, with support from the City of Verona. Following the enthusiastic response on December 15, the show was repeated on Friday, December 19, and Saturday, December 20—the latter performance made possible by Generali Italia.
“The Magic of Christmas” is a story for young and old alike, narrated by Santa Claus himself. With 500 drones, he brings to life the iconic symbols of the holiday season and winter: snowflakes, Santa Claus, snowmen, gifts, Christmas trees, Tibiscuit…
A touching trip down memory lane, made all the more special by the magical setting of the Christmas market on Verona’s Piazza Bra.
“A Christmas-themed show to wish the city a Merry Christmas,” says Alessia Rotta, Deputy Mayor for Events, “and to invite everyone to the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics.” This is the first time an event of this kind has been held in Verona, and during the first performance on the evening of December 15, it was met with great enthusiasm by the audience. Hence the decision to offer additional performances, further enriching the already extensive program proposed this year by the City of Verona.”
The launch of Magis bridges the gap between innovation and tradition: on one hand, the new identity of the Verona-Vicenza-based multiservice company; on the other, the timeless setting of the Arena, which hosts a sustainable, high-tech spectacle. The initiative is part of the “Diffuse Christmas” program, which brings events and attractions to various locations throughout the city, with the goal of making the holiday season a shared and accessible experience.
