A Special Evening in Roquefort: Fireworks and a Drone Show
A rich program focused on this treasure of the French countryside
On Saturday, June 7, 2025, Roquefort-sur-Soulzon came alive with excitement for a major event: the centennial of the Roquefort Protected Designation of Origin. A symbolic date for an iconic product, celebrated with pride and enthusiasm by the entire region.
More than 5,000 people turned out to celebrate this iconic product of the Aveyron region in style. Families, producers, artisans, institutions, and visitors from across the region gathered to take part in this historic day.
Throughout the day, visitors were able to enjoy a variety of activities in a friendly atmosphere:
- tastings of culinary creations prepared by Michelin-starred chefs,
- sheep parades,
- booths for young and old,
- concerts,
- the Celestial Clock’s artistic performance…
A festive program that brought together heritage, gastronomy, and local culture, immersing Roquefort in a warm and festive atmosphere.
A fireworks display and 400 drones to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the AOP
At 10:45 p.m., the sky lit up in a magnificent display by Brezac Artifices, in collaboration with Allumee.
The entire village then fell silent, gazing in awe at that moment suspended in time, caught between emotion and wonder.
For nearly 15 minutes, pyrotechnic displays and an aerial drone ballet intertwined to tell a story—set to a narrative soundtrack—that paid a beautiful tribute to this jewel of the cheese-making craft. It was a breathtaking sound-and-light show that was created entirely from scratch for the occasion.
Light, music, and technology came together to symbolically illustrate the unique connection between Roquefort, its history, its producers, and its time-honored craftsmanship.
In the sky, the 400 drones traced symbols dear to the region, reflecting its heritage, nature, and the celebration of the AOP’s 100th anniversary.Among them were sheep, the legendary cellars, the Larzac mountains, and, of course, the inscription “100 Years of Roquefort AOP,” which was met with a round of applause.
